When you are mindful, you consciously choose to be aware in the present moment and to do so with acceptance, compassion and willingness. Many of us spend our lives lost in thought, missing the precious moments of life, endlessly caught in unhelpful patterns learned over a lifetime, feeling trapped in the future by thoughts of worry or feel stuck dwelling on events in the past, and swept away & overwhelmed by emotions and reactions. Mindfulness helps us break free from these patterns.  As we learn to slow down and pay attention in this way, and learn how to deeply relax, we experience less debilitating stress and much more satisfaction and gratitude in our lives. -MMM
